You’d think that RIM would be replacing highest-end product with a brand new device, right? Well, previous rumors suggested that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 would get nothing more than a simple refresh, and we’re able to confirm those rumors. We have a leaked internal document detailing all sorts of fun stuff. Market positioning, technical overviews, and a bunch more. The big picture view? The BlackBerry Bold R020 (9020? 9750? 9780? We’re just guessing) will be practically identical to the 9700 visually. Internal changes include a 5 megapixel camera sensor, and 512MB of RAM up from 256MB. It will also launch with BlackBerry 6 — obviously. We’d love to say there is more, but there isn’t, so check out the leaked document and let us know your thoughts, ok? (bgr)

Indeed, one of the hottest battles for consumers this Christmas shopping season could be between Apple’s iPad and RIM’s BlackPad.Now that RIM has reportedly worked out a deal with the government of Saudi Arabia that will supposedly prevent the suspension of BlackBerry services in the Gulf state, RIM is casting its eyes to the future, and the company has reportedly circled November on its calendars for a launch of the BlackPad.Sources tell the National Post that RIM’s answer to the iPad — a touchscreen tablet style computer designed for business users, unofficially dubbed the BlackPad — will debut in November. It is believed to be a companion device for BlackBerry users and will reportedly cost $499, the same as Apple’s least expensive iPad model.RIM officials have remained customarily tight-lipped about the existence of the BlackPad, refusing to comment on rumours or speculation. However, according to BlackBerryCool.com, the BlackPad will feature WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth technology as well as both front and rear facing cameras, however, it will not connect to 3G wireless networks like some of Apple’s more expensive iPad models.

So far, we’ve heard the tablet will be a companion device to the BlackBerry and may have the following specs:
